BEAT THE WINTER BLUES

The Columbia House Enhancement Society, (CHES), is excited to sponsor an upcoming seminar entitled, “Overcoming Seasonal Depression”,   Wednesday January 23, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Christ Church, Invermere.  This seminar should appeal to all ages from seniors to youth.

Master of Ceremonies is Betty Newton

The key speakers include:

– Local physician Dr. Shannon Page, one of Columbia House doctors.  She will speak to seniors and depression, overcoming seasonal depression which affects all ages, and beating the winter blues.

– Jennette St Jean, Canfit Active Aging Specialist and Fitness Instructor at both the Valley Fitness Centre and the Senior Centre, and who is interested in all things affecting seniors

– Madelene Lange, Secretary Invermere Hospital Auxiliary, and Secretary of the Seniors Society.  She is chairperson of the Seniors and Kindergarten Intergenerational Program at the Seniors Centre.  Madelene will speak to the joy of volunteering.

In summary, we are fortunate to have a vibrant group of speakers, all of whom are very excited about this seminar and have donated their time.

This seminar is both an information session for the community and a fundraiser for the Columbia House Community Healing Garden.  This seminar, and the earlier one are a test to see if the community is interested in this sort of service and we see it a worthwhile fund raiser.

Admission is by donation.
