How do an endowment fund help the garden?

An endowment is an investment fund set aside for the long-term support of a charity. The principal remains invested. Only the income, or a portion of the income, will be used in the maintenance of the garden.

The Columbia House Enhancement Society's (CHES) mission is to enhance the quality of life for those residing in Columbia House and other seniors in the community through innovative projects. Contributing to the Endowment fund is a donation that lasts forever. This is because the donation itself never is spent. It is invested with the Columbia Valley Community Foundation who are connected with professional investment advisors. Only the proceeds are forwarded to CHES. All contributors will receive a charitable donation tax slip.
